Gary B. Callahan was admitted to the California Bar in 1971 after having attended Sacramento State College and obtaining his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
Gary has been certified as : Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys and was the recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award from the McGeorge School of Law in 1989. Gary holds the rank of Diplomate with the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Gary is listed in various "who's who" of American law. Gary has handled cases in Nevada and Oregon in addition to California.
Gary's principle areas of practice include: tortious discharge from employment; torts; product liability; professional malpractice and personal injury.
He has been an instructor for the California continuing Education of the Bar since 1978 and for the Hastings Center for Trial and Appellate Advocacy from 1984 to 1993. Gary is an instructor for the Stanford Law School Trial Practice Program and the University of San Francisco Trial Practice Program. He has taught at the UOP McGeorge Trial Program and has been a Judge Pro Tem for the Sacramento Superior Court.
Gary has been a member of the Sacramento County Bar Council (1985-1986), American Bar Association, State Bar of California, Consumer Attorneys of California, Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Consumer Attorneys of Sacramento. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Consumer Attorneys of Sacramento from 1981 to 1986 and served as President of that Board in 1985. The American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys has certified Gary and in 1999 he was named Advocate of the Year by the Sacramento Consumer Attorneys. In 2005, Gary was named Trial Lawyer of the year by the Sacramento Chapter of the American Board of Trial Attorneys.
